昔与我共事于公领域者，谓我为外交之士；

余素尚友善，即使道不同者，亦不轻弃相交之心。
然今日，我不得不言：
当宣战矣。
向恐怖主义宣战，
向邪恶宣战，
向那些心志乖戾、灵魂扭曲，却妄图将异域仇恨携入我土之人宣战。
毋庸置疑：
尔等，乃我之敌。
亦为我社区之敌。
于尔等而言，
无荣光可言，无奖赏可期，亦无幻想之乐土。
无宴席，无赦宥，无宽恕——
惟有裁决：长存不灭，不可逃避，终不可赎。
此非我昔日所成长之澳洲；
此亦绝非我等未来之澳洲——
因我辈断不容尔得逞。
我辈不容尔使邻里相仇；
不容尔因肤色、信仰、或祖源而分裂吾民。
我辈深知尔等欲掩之真相：
邪恶无定形，不属一教，不归一族。
我辈不容尔以恐惧毒害我之子孙；
不容尔以仇恨玷污我之街衢；
不容尔篡改我辈之本源与身份。
今日，
我辈哀悼亡者。
悼被夺之生命，悼破碎之家园，悼消逝之未来。
我辈同悲——坦然以对，深切以怀，众志同在。
然明日，
我辈当立。
立于尔欲播恐惧之处，以重建信任；
立于尔欲裂众心之所，以巩固团结；
立而择勇于沉默之上，
择公义于复仇之前，
择坚忍于绝望之境。
尔欲摧我，
终不可成。
澳洲之强，非尔仇恨可敌；
我之社区，其深厚非尔暴力可撼；
我之未来，其光明远胜尔所携之黑暗。
我辈必铭记。
我辈必屹立。
我辈终将胜之——
以我辈绝不容尔得逞。

We Won’t Let You

Those who have worked with me in the public sector have called me a diplomat.
Those in the community have called me a peacemaker.
And those who know me personally know this to be true — I have always sought friendship, even with those with whom I do not see eye to eye.
But today, I declare war.
A war on terrorism, a war on evil, and a war on those who, through twisted minds and distorted souls, believed it acceptable to bring their hatred from foreign lands onto our shores.
Make no mistake: you are my enemy.
You are the enemy of my community.
And for you, there is no glory, no reward, no imagined paradise.
No banquet, no absolution, no forgiveness awaits you — only condemnation: enduring, inescapable, and eternal.
This is not the Australia I grew up in.
And this will not be the Australia of our future — because we won’t let you.
We won’t let you turn neighbour against neighbour.
We won’t let you divide us because of how we look, how we pray, or where our ancestors came from.
We know the truth you seek to deny: evil wears no single face, belongs to no single faith, and claims no single heritage.
We won’t let you poison our children with fear.
We won’t let you corrupt our streets with hatred.
We won’t let you rewrite who we are.
Today, we mourn our dead.
We honour lives stolen, families shattered, and futures erased.
We grieve — openly, deeply, and together.
But tomorrow, we stand.
We stand to rebuild trust where you sought to sow fear.
We stand to strengthen unity where you aimed to create fracture.
We stand to choose courage over silence, justice over vengeance, and resolve over despair.
You tried to break us.
You will fail.
Australia is stronger than your hatred.
Our communities are deeper than your violence.
And our future is brighter than the darkness you brought with you.
We will remember.
We will stand.
And we will succeed — because we won’t let you.
